Wonderful Tenerife

Discover Tenerife

Talk about diversity. From soft sandy beaches and bustling family resorts to rugged clifftops and soaring mountains, there’s so much to love about Tenerife holidays.

You may be familiar with Tenerife’s reputation as a party island, and if you head to the resorts of Playa de las Americas or Los Cristianos in the south, you’ll understand why. During the summer months, these popular resorts spring into action with all manners of fun and shenanigans laid on both day and night. Along the beachfront you’ll find a bustling vibe with plenty of sunbeds, watersports and beach bars on offer. And in the towns themselves, things really hot up once the sun goes down with neon-lit pubs, bars and clubs that get the party started and it keep it going well into the early hours.

But of course, as any savvy traveller knows, there’s much more to Tenerife than booze and bars. Head north and enjoy the laid-back ambience of the island’s coastal communities, which fan out along the seafront and across the hills from the popular town of Puerto de la Cruz. Here it’s all about local traditions and Canarian culture, and while there’s plenty going on in terms of local things to see and so, it’s nothing like its contemporaries in the south.

In place of booming bars and all-night clubs are cosy tavernas and authentic Spanish restaurants. Where the beaches down south are crammed with bronzing bodies, lined up shoulder to shoulder, the northern shores offer a quieter ambience and a more rugged appeal, with craggy cliffs and dramatic sea views to stir the soul. When it’s time for some hustle and bustle, head to the capital city of Santa Cruz for a day of sightseeing, shopping, and to enjoy the local cuisine – of which there are plenty of top-notch restaurants to choose from.

With so much to see, do and discover in Tenerife, the only problem you’ll have is fitting it all in.
